Drug charges laid after Midland apartment raid

Five people have been arrested and charged following the execution of a search warrant on March 11, 2020 at an apartment complex on Yonge St. in Midland.    

Members of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) and Central Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) all assisted in the execution of the search warrant.    

The search led to the seizure of a quantity of pills including Opioids. Police have laid numerous Controlled Drug and Substance Act (CDSA) charges as a result of this investigation.  

Wilma King, 50 years old from Midland has been charged with:    

  • Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking  
  • Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance  
  • Possession of Property Obtained By Crime  

Allan McClung, 61 years old from Midland has been charged with:    

  • Possession of a schedule I controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking 
  • Possession of a schedule I controlled substance  
  • Possession of property obtained by crime

Mark Lalonde, 59 years old from Midland has been charged with:    

  • Possession of a schedule I controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking  
  • Possession of a schedule I controlled substance  
  • Possession of property obtained by crime

While in the process of executing the search warrant police arrested two separate males who arrived at the property.  Police arrested one male on an outstanding bench warrant and the other in relation to a separate ongoing investigation.

Robert Potter, 30 years old from Midland has been charged with:     

  • Possession of property obtained by crime x 3 

Dylan Roper, 27 years old from Georgian Bay Township has been charged with:     

  • Possession of property obtained by crime x 3 

All five accused are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland in May 2020.
