Collision at Hwy. 400 ramp sends five to hospital

Sunday morning crash remains under investigation, OPP say

TAY TOWNSHIP - A collision this morning sent five people to hospital, including one who was transported to a Toronto-area hospital by air ambulance.

At around 10 a.m., members of the Southern Georgian Bay OPP along with Simcoe County Paramedics responsed to the scene of the crash on the ramp that exits northbound Highway 400 onto Highway 12 in Tay Township, police said in a news release.

A vehicle left the roadway and rolled over. All occupants were transported to hospital.

One person with serious injuries was flown to hospital by ORNGE air ambulance.

The ramp was closed for several hours while the OPP investigated.

Police said the crash remains under investigation. No charges have been laid at this time.
