Provincial police say a Barrie teen was charged with stunt driving after being caught on radar going 183 kilometres per hour near Highways 400 and 11.

A Barrie teen will be without a vehicle for at least two weeks after he was clocked at 183 kilometres per hour at Highways 400 and 11.

Aurora OPP say the 17-year-old has been charged with stunt driving.

He received a 30-day suspension of his driver's licence.

"His parents are not too happy with the 14-day vehicle impound of their car," Ontario Provincial Police said on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.

"Although it's a new year, we are still asking drivers to slow down," police say.
