A car crashed into the front door of a home at 108 Mulcaster St., near downtown Barrie, on Thursday, Jan. 11, 2024.

A Barrie family is waiting to see if they can return to their Mulcaster Street home after a vehicle parked itself on the front steps this morning.

Barrie police got the call around 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 11 after a car hit the front of the home — located at 108 Mulcaster St., near downtown Barrie.

“The vehicle did come to rest on the front steps,” police communications coordinator Peter Leon said.

Leon noted there were no reports of injuries as a result of the crash, and that crews had removed the vehicle around noon.

“The city is on scene checking to see if the residents can go back in," he added. "I think for their safety they were asked to exit the home for the time being."

The investigation is ongoing.

Barrie police are also reminding motorists to drive according to conditions.

“With road conditions being what they are and what they’re going to become, people need to slow down and drive according to the conditions they are experiencing,” Leon said. “We will look at all causal factors, including the possibility of it being weather-related.”
