A suspect has been arrested after police say an elderly man was robbed and assaulted in Gravenhurst on Friday.
Bracebridge OPP responded at 4 p.m. to numerous calls about a man being assaulted on Muskoka Road, near Brown Street. The suspect fled on foot with the victim’s wallet.
Officers located the suspect after he got into an altercation at Gull Lake Park and members of the public called police.
Robert Iwanow, 36, of Huntsville, has been charged with robbery with violence, possession of property obtained by crime, and possession of a Schedule 1 substance (cocaine). He has a Nov. 7 court date in Bracebridge.
