A local man faces child-pornography charges following a "lengthy" investigation by the Barrie police department's Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) unit.
On Thursday, July 7, city police say officers with the ICE unit arrested and charged a 67-year-old Barrie man.
The name of the accused was not released.
The man is now facing charges of accessing child pornography and possessing child pornography.
As a result of numerous search warrants, police say cellphones, laptop, tablets, and USB drives were seized by police for forensic analysis.
The accused was held pending a bail hearing.
The investigation was assisted by a grant from the Ministry of the Solicitor General.
