The Iroquois Falls OPP says it is investigating a homicide at a long-term care facility in that town.
On December 20, at 10 p.m., police responded to a reported death of a 98-year-old individual as a result of an earlier interaction between two tenants of a long-term care facility.
Police have not released the name or gender of the victim.
A homicide investigation has been initiated by the South Porcupine OPP Crime Unit, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, with the assistance of the OPP Forensic Identification Services and in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario.

This is the second such incident in the region. Police are also investigating a homicide at a long-term care facility in Orillia.
Orillia OPP responded Nov. 13 to the facility for the report of an assault involving two residents.
Kevin Elmes, 88, was taken to hospital with serious injuries. On Nov. 24, he died of his injuries, police said in a news release.
Police have not released the name of the other resident involved in the incident or the facility where the assault occurred.
A homicide investigation is underway by the Orillia OPP Crime Unit, with the assistance of OPP Forensic Identification Services, under the direction of the Criminal Investigation Branch.
