Ben passed away peacefully at Georgian Bay General Hospital in Midland on Thursday March 28, 2024.
Beloved husband of Brenda. Loving father of his two late children Wayne and Laura. Doting grandfather of the late Jonathon Newey. Dearly loved brother of Lillian Wright and brother -in-law Gary Cooper. Predeceased by his parents John B. And Grace Wright He will be sorely missed by nephews Richard Stoner and Stephan Hewitt, nieces Lesle Hewitt and Dawn Gould as well as many friends some of whom many have been by his and Brenda's side for many years.
He was a well respected man, having graduated from Ryerson College as a Mechanical Engineer. He spent many years working as a mold designer for the plastics industry and was a brilliant and innovative designer who won many accolades for his work.
He was a gentle, kind,caring person always there for whoever needed his help. He was an avid sailor spending many years cruising Georgian Bay with his wife Brenda. Always living for his music, he spent many peaceful hours playing and enjoying music of all genres. He considered himself a champion sudoko and crossword player.
He spent many hours hiking with his golden retrievers on trails in Ontario and South Carolina where he and his Brenda spent many winters after retirement.
Ben will be remembered as a delightful person who was dearly loved.
Cremation has taken place, a celebration of life will take place at a later date to be determined.
