It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Steven Lawrence Ward, of Wasaga Beach, ON on March 10, 2021 at the age of 63 years.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Maria; his son, Ryan; his daughter, Nichol Ward; his grandson, Kaedence Ward; brother, Mark; sister, Lisa Gow (Tom); as well as mother, Ruth Ward and numerous other relatives including four nephews, one niece; step children: Wesley Lotto (Ilona); Samantha Jones (Dustin); Alanna Lotto (Stephane); and Jason Mura; Stefanie Vergut;  and step grandchildren Nick Vergut; Ava and Leo Jones; Brielle Lotto.  He was predeceased by his father Lawrence Ward.  Steve was born in Kingston, Ontario on January 22, 1958. He spent over 34 years of his career at CN Rail as a Yard Master where he was greatly respected and cherished by his colleagues – many of whom became lifelong friends.

Steve, fondly known as "Super Steve" by his loved ones, lived for adventure and had a deep passion for travel and for all things outdoors. His endless list of hobbies, all of which he excelled at, included: boating, fishing, scuba diving, hunting, golfing, snowmobiling, skiing, playing guitar, gardening/landscaping, woodworking, bodybuilding, cooking, baking and hosting family and friends with Maria at their home on the river in Wasaga Beach. He was especially talented at woodworking, and over the years built many beautiful indoor and outdoor custom furniture pieces, decks and so much more for many to enjoy.

Steve also loved to show off his top-notch culinary skills and could often be found cooking up a feast in the kitchen or on the grill outside for family, friends and neighbors.  Every gathering at Steve and Maria's home was filled with good food, laughter and great entertainment – a truly one-of-a-kind experience.  Those who had the opportunity to spend some time there always left with full bellies, happy hearts and many wonderful memories to cherish.

As per Steve's wishes, cremation has taken place and a gathering to celebrate his life will be forthcoming in the late spring/early summer with more details to be confirmed and shared at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made in Steve's name to Campbell House (240 Erie Street, Collingwood ON L9Y 0X8).The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the Bayshore Community Homecare team, Dr. Serena Deketele and Campbell House hospice. Your care and support for Steve will always be remembered.
