09-May-1937 - 20-Sep-2023

Beverley Anne Truax (Mahoney) of Penetanguishene, Ontario passed away at her residence in her 87th year on September 20 2023.

She was predeceased by her loving husband Clinton and is survived by her children Carolyn Black (Scott), Jennifer Campeau (Marc) and Jeffrey Truax (Tania) and beloved grandchildren Christopher, Cayley, Hannah, Luc and Katie. Also survived by many nieces and nephews, including her namesake Beverley Cynthia Ubbens. Predeceased by her beloved siblings and best friends Bill, Claire and Bob. Born on May 9 1937 in East Gwillimbury Ontario, Bev was raised on a farm until her father Frederick was killed in a farming accident in 1950.

Her mother Eleanor and three siblings moved to Midland, where she met her future husband Clint in 1955 at St. Paul’s United Church. Married in 1957, their love story would endure for nearly 65 years until Clint’s death in 2022. A beloved teacher for 34 years with the Simcoe County District School Board, her first job was teaching in a one-room school house near Wyebridge; she retired in 1994 from Bayview Elementary School in Midland. She was very proud of her university education, with degrees in the Arts and Education, a specialty in Special Education and a lifelong love of inspiring children to realize their full potential.

A proud Rotary Ann, she worked in many Rotary Club events and hosted countless Sunday School Picnics and garage sale fundraisers for St. Paul’s. Bev lived a full life with many dear friends and her fierce love for her family never wavered. Rest easy, mom. If desired, the family welcomes memorial donations to The Kidney Foundation of Canada, St. Paul’s United Church or the charity of your choice.
