1956 - 2021
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the recent passing of Stephen John Sherborn (known to many friends and loved ones as “Bert”). Bert passed away surrounded by love and with his family by his side on March 6, 2021 at the age of 64.
He will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his devoted wife of 37 years, Carol; his children Kayla (Tim), and Cody (Catarina); his grandchildren Aiden, Owen (and one on the way); his siblings Anna-Maria (Doug) and Richard (Nancy); as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends - too numerous to list but not forgotten. He is predeceased by his parents Kazek and Pauline; his brother Peter and his sister Clare.
Bert loved his life in Cawaja beach, living in the family home he built from the ground up. He will be remembered as a strong, positive, and hard-working man with an eye for detail; a proud Husband, Dad and Papa. He had a knack for finding humor in the most mundane situations, always making us laugh when we least expected. Bert loved a good party, welcoming those around him with open arms, and never said no to a cold beer. He walked to the beat of his own drum (wearing socks and running shoes to the beach comes to mind), but always put the needs of others before his own. It has become so clear just how loved Bert was by those in his life near and far, past and present. He will be greatly missed but will live on in our hearts and memories forever.
A celebration of Bert’s life will be held at a later date when larger gatherings are allowed again. Please come with pictures and stories and be ready for one heck of a party.
