It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Eleanor Gail Reid Feb 24/24 in her 80th year. “Ellie” is predeceased by her husband, Thomas Reid, and she will now rejoin all of her siblings in heaven – Merilyn, Fred and Mel. Ellie was born in the Penetanguishene area and spent most of her adult life in Durham Region where she did secretarial work and spent her time spoiling her many nieces and nephews. She would always offer a hand or a hug when needed for family, friends or anyone in need. She was a caregiver to both her parents in later years, and to her husband as well.
Eleanor enjoyed many hobbies including sewing, guitar playing, knitting, fashion, Reflexology/Iridology and boating. She was a devout vegetarian and animal lover, taking in numerous pets throughout the years. Eleanor was a second mother to her niece Victoria, with whom she spent a great deal of time. She will be dearly missed by all; and leaves a hole in our hearts too large for words.
Date of funeral mass will be June 14, 2024 at 2:30, St Margaret's Church , 589 Hugel Avenue, Midland. Interment to follow.
