November 25, 1945 - September 29, 2023
Passed peacefully on September 29th, 2023, at the Georgian Bay General Hospital surrounded by his family. Bill will be greatly missed by his wife, Cathy (née Willows), of 55 years. Loving father of Russell (Tina) and Keith (Katie); proud grandfather of Sawyer, Ryland and Keiran. Predeceased by his parents, Russell and Arsinia Prentice (née Hamelin).
Throughout his life Bill enjoyed volunteering. He provided guided tours on the S.S. Keewatin for 8 years and at the Coldwater Canadiana Heritage Museum for 4 years. Bill also served his community as a member of the Coldwater Lions club for 4 years and had been an active member of the Midland Y’s Men's Club for about 25 years.
Bill’s love of history was shown in his travels across North America – stopping to read historical placards, touring many historic sites and museums. With Cathy by his side, they made many memories and friends along the way.
At his request there will be no service. As an expression of sympathy donations to GBGH Foundation and Hospice Huronia Tompkins House would be appreciated.
