Passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday September 22, 2023 at Hospice Huronia - Tomkins House Penetanguishene, Ontario at the age of 81.
Loving husband of Carolyn Ostrowski (nee Bowman). Cherished Father of Leisha Ostrowski (Chris Gittens), Proud Poppa of Alexandra and Andrew Gittens.
Bryan is predeceased by his parents Mary and John Ostrowski and siblings Kay, John and Rosemary.
Bryan will be remembered first and foremost for his love and devotion to his family. His kindness was felt by all, including animals for whom he had a special affinity. He had a long-standing commitment to the community; a beloved teacher at Midland Secondary School (1965-1999), board member of The Wye Marsh and The Hunters and Anglers. Those who knew Bryan, knew him as an avid golfer, fisherman, hunter, boater, basketball coach and star, curler and for his love of racquet sports.
A very special thank you to the wonderful staff at Hospice Huronia, Tomkins House who were all so kind and caring and to Dr. Jeff Golisky for his unwavering support throughout Bryan’s illness.
Cremation has taken place, the family will receive family and friends on Saturday September 30, 2023 from 1:30pm-3:30pm at Nicholls Funeral Home, 330 Midland Ave Midland Ontario.
In lieu of flowers, his family kindly requests memorial donations be made to Hospice Huronia- Tomkins House Penetanguishene, Ontario in Bryan’s name.
Bryan will live in our hearts forever.
