April 26, 1936 – November 26, 2023

It is with great sadness that the family of Karl Miller announce his passing on November 26, 2023, at RVH, after a short illness, with his family by his side.

Born and raised in Mt St Louis, Karl didn’t stray far from his roots. He spent his entire 87 years within a stone’s throw of his childhood home.

Beloved husband of 65 years to Pauline (Edwards) and proud father of Ivan (Petra), Sally (late John), and Bill (Shari). Popa and Grampa to Samantha, Alex (Amy) and Ashley. Great Grampa to Emmet.

Predeceased by his parents, William and Dorothy, his brother Dale, and sister Jane, brother in laws John Chevel, Murray Edwards, Don Edwards, and Bob Lambie. Survived by his sister in laws Bette Miller, Joy Edwards, and Doreen Lambie. Karl will be missed by his many nieces and nephews.

Growing up in a farming family and community, it was an important part of his life and values. From the early years of threshing, right up until late in his retirement, Karl maintained his love for farming. Even during his years of working away from the farm, Karl kept some form of livestock.

Karl was in his element when he was outside working, either in his gardens, maintaining his lawn, or cutting firewood. He enjoyed providing enough produce from his garden for all his family. When Karl couldn’t be outside, he could be found at his desk working at history, whether it was family, community or local cemeteries. He was a quiet man, but when it came to history, he would be busting at the seams with knowledge.

Cremation has been entrusted to Nicholls Funeral Home, Midland. A Celebration of life will be held on Sunday May 5, 2024, at Wyebridge Community Hall from 1 to 4pm.

Donations if desired, can be made in memory of Karl through the RVH Foundation.
