It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Peggy McBride. She passed peacefully onto the next world on the evening of Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at GBGH. Peggy was in her 77th year. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Patrick McBride, Loving mother of Joann (Shawn) and Margaret. Proud Gramma of Emily (Chris), Nathan, Leah, and Alex. Great Gramma to Evangeline. She was predeceased by her parents Herman and Rita Duquette and her sister Barbara Robinson. She leaves behind her older brother James Duquette (Brenda), brother-in-law Malcom, nieces, Leeann and Sherry, nephew Keith and many friends and neighbours.
Peggy lived most of her life in Penetanguishene, Ontario. She worked at Décor/TRW as a sewer until she “retired” to care for the neighbourhood children. She loved gardening, baking, and making crafts. Peggy was known for being kind, welcoming anyone into her home, and treating them like family. Peggy was a homebody and woke every day with a smile and the purpose of caring for her family.
We can rest easy knowing that she has been reunited with the love of her life, Joe and they will be together forever and for always. We are thankful for all the PSWs in the Robin Ward at The Villa Care Center that made Peggy feel at home. The family would like to express our gratitude for the wonderful care she received at GBGH in her last few days, especially nurses Emily and Robyn. Cremation has taken place.
