May 26, 1963 - Aug. 18, 2023

After a lengthy illness, we are sad to announce Remi’s passing. He will be greatly missed by his parents John (Jean) Marchildon & Pauline Marchildon (nee Belcourt), his brother David Marchildon (Anne – nee Gaunt), sister Anne Marchildon (formerly Tessier), nephews Matthew Tessier & Aiden Marchildon, great nephew Hunter Holowachuck-Tessier, his former wife and best friend Sandra Libreghts and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Remi recently ended his long career at Arch Insurance as the manager of one of their underwriting departments. He loved his work and the people he worked with.

He was a resilient, kind, compassionate and generous person with a great sense of humour.

Remi loved playing golf (especially in Myrtle Beach during his yearly trip with the boys), taking occasional trips to Las Vegas, and of course the 1968 Mustang. He was also quite a cook, displaying his talents at family Christmas events that he hosted and with friends at the yearly cottage gathering in Minden.

In his last few weeks Remi enjoyed competitive games of Double Solitaire with Aunt Suzanne for that one dollar grand prize!

On Saturday, Sept. 2 at 10:30am, a mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Church in Perkinsfield followed by a Celebration of Remi’s life at the Brooklea Golf & Country Club in Midland.

In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice Huronia-Tomkins House in Penetanguishene.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the doctors, nurses and medical staff at Oakville Trafalgar Hospital, Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto, Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre in Barrie, Georgian Bay General Hospital in Midland and of course Hospice Huronia-Tomkins House for their compassionate, professional care during Remi’s final days.
