We're sad to announce the death of Patricia Anne Larkins (nee Thomson) on January 4, 2024 at the Villa Care Centre in Midland. Pat was born in Toronto on January 9th, 1930.  She was predeceased by her husband Fred (1930-2007) and by siblings Robert (Marg) Thomson, Margaret (Alex) Stittle, and Eleanor (Ed) Downey.  She was the loving mother of daughters Kathy and Karen (Allan), and grandmother of Paul (Kris), Laura (Mark), Sarah (Mike) and Mary (George).  She leaves great grandchildren Jack, Ryan, Lucy, Nathan, Emma, Liam, Jack, Isabel and Malakai.  She was a beloved aunt, fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.

Pat and Fred moved to Midland in 1967 and together owned and operated Atlas Block for more than 20 years.  Her whole life Pat loved crafts and was a seamstress, quilter and knitter. She made everything from baby clothes to wedding gowns and knitted countless sweaters. But quilting was her passion and her family and friends received and still treasure many of her quilts.  She was an amazing woman and will be missed dearly by her family.

We will always remember the funny, intelligent, feisty and talented woman who loved to play cards solve crossword puzzles....and could beat anyone at a game of scrabble!

Cremation has taken place and an event to honour Pat’s life will be planned for the spring. We wish to thank the staff at the Villa Care Centre who provided such wonderful care during the last stages of Pat’s life. Donations in Pat’s memory may be sent to Hospice Huronia or the Villa Care Centre.
