Rita passed away peacefully at the Georgian Bay General Hospital on Thursday February 8th, 2024 at the age of 97. Beloved wife of the late Leonard Lacroix. Loving mother of Susan Scott (Ron), Gail Akerman (Fred), and Debbie Duquette. She is predeceased by her son Paul. Rita was Mere to Andrew, Christina, Erin, and Lindsay. Great-grandmother to Carter, Madden, Emma, Dianna, Summer, and Rosie. Predeceased by her siblings: Clemence (Marie) Desroches, Phil, Herb, Norm, Art, Frieda Windrum, Celina Bechard, Cecile Cascagnette, Alma Bazinet, John, Jeanette Mason, Helen (Jones) Whyte.
In keeping with Rita’s wishes a private family service will take place and she will be laid to rest at St. Ann’s Cemetery in the spring. If so desired, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
