It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Aline Jessome (nee Maurice) at Georgian Bay General Hospital in her 98th year. Aline was the wife of Jerome Jessome (predeceased) of 66 years. She was mother to 5 children, Ron (predeceased) (Cindy Davis), Allan (Marilyn), Michael (Mona), Elizabeth Galbraith (Alan) and Lorraine Scott. Aline is survived by her sister Prima (late Bernard) Moreau and sister-in-law Ghisele (late Gilles) Maurice.

Aline is also predeceased by her parents Roland and Maria (Ladouceur) Maurice, sisters Jeannine, Marielle Laurin (late Ligouri), Odette Dignard, Marie Paule Lafreniere (late Gord) and brother Gilles.

Aline was dearly loved by her 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. She was always interested in what everyone was doing and looked forward to visits, preparing everyone’s favourite meal and her famous “Grandma Brownies.”

Aline loved keeping busy doing some form of craft. She could sew, make candles, hook rugs, quilt, paint, crochet and knit. Christmas gifts each year were handmade and always special. She also had a green thumb producing bountiful gardens and beautiful flower beds.

Aline was known for her great memory of names, dates and events. She took an avid interest in the Maurice family genealogy and spent hours with her sister Marielle and cousin Ron researching and gathering information. At 97 she was still keeping lists of new entries for the records.

We wish to thank the staff at Georgian Village Residences and the Georgian Bay General Hospital for their care and compassion.

Aline touched so many people throughout her long life. She will be greatly missed by everyone she touched.

Family will receive friends on Thursday October 5, 2023 from 7pm-9pm at Nicholls Funeral Home, Midland. A mass will be held on Friday October 6, 2023 at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church, Midland at 9:30am. Cremation to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Ronald McDonald House, the Georgian Bay General Hospital Foundation or the charity of your choice.
