Passed away peacefully at the Georgian Bay General Hospital on Saturday February 11, 2023 in his 89th year.
Beloved husband of 67 years to Theresa Guthrie (nee Parent). Loving father of Wilfrid (Jeanne), Thomas (Marilyn), Roxanne McIntosh (Earl) and Ramona Mark (David). Pepere of Nicole, Christina, Andrea, Ryan, Jeffrey, Matthew, Tanya, Ramona, Sasha, Danielle, Laura and 20 great grandchildren. Wilfrid will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Dad was a loving and devoted husband to Theresa. He always took care of mom and was always watching over her.
Even in the latter stage of Alzheimer's Dad would always open the car door for Mom. He may have had no idea where we were going, but she was his life. He still had photos of mom in his wallet from when they were dating. Dad was a kind, gentle, peaceful, honest, loving, caring father, just as our Lord Jesus created him to be. He was a model of how to be a true loving father. What a blessing for our family. If you were close by to him, he would have engaged you in conversation. He would speak with anyone. He was a true man of Love.
Visitation will be held at the Nicholls Funeral Home on Thursday February 16th from 12 noon until 2:15 p.m. A funeral mass will follow at St. Margaret's Church at 2:30 p.m. Cremation will follow with interment at St. Patrick's Cemetery in the spring. If desired, donations to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Midland or the Alzheimer Society would be greatly appreciated.
