Passed away suddenly at Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie on Sunday February 13, 2022 in his 82nd year. Beloved husband and best friend of Anne Gedney (nee Mackie). Loving father of Michelle "Mitch" McCarthy and Melissa Ball (Tony). Special and extraordinary grandfather of Stefania Giordano, Ashley Pohanka (David) and Brandon Ball. Great grandfather of Noah and Ethan Pohanka. Son of the late Ernest and Myrtle Gedney of Englehart, Ontario. Wayne will be sadly missed by his two best friends Raymond Kennedy and Mark LaSalle of Midland and his extended family and many friends in Cape Breton Island and in Englehart, Ontario. Wayne was a graduate of Ryerson University in electrical engineering which led to him travelling across Canada working for Ontario Hydro. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the Nicholls Funeral Home
