Ruth Garner passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on December 18, 2022 in her 85th year. Beloved wife of the late Tom for 63 years and her best friend since Grade 6 public school. Loving father of Brian (Diane), Sandra (Paul); proud Grandma of Cory (Jordyn) and Jordan (Kaitlyn). Predeceased by her parents Stan and Mildred Peacock, brothers Doug and Ross. Will be sadly missed by other family members and friends. Ruth was a former president of the Midland Minor Hockey Ladies Auxiliary and a former volunteer with Huronia District Hospital.
Despite her medical challenges, she remained positive, fought hard and still maintained to care for others. She was at her best helping others. In accordance with Ruth’s wishes cremation has taken place and family interment is being honoured. If desired memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
She always leaned to watch for us,
Anxious if we were late,
In winter by the window,
In summer by the gate.
And though we mocker her tenderly,
Who had such foolish care,
The long way home would seem more safe,
Because she waited there.
Her thoughts were all so full of us,
She never could forget!
And so I think that where she is,
She must be watching yet.
Waiting till we come home to her,
Anxious if we are late,
Watching from Heaven's window
Leaning on Heaven's gate.
