March 29, 1963 to November 25, 2023

It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Allen Donald Forget on November 25, 2023 while vacationing in Mexico.

In 1991, Al married the love of his life, Christine Currie, and together, they built a Family led with love and adventure.  Al was a devoted father to daughter Rachelle (Jake) Forget, son Christian Forget and doting grandfather to the light of his life little Miss Maizie Forget-Wallis.

Al’s life would seem too short to many but for those who were touched by him understand the quality of existence far exceeds to quantity in which one lives. Al lived a life fully engaged with the world around him. He loved playing music at the Midland Culture Centre and church but would say the highlight of his music career was playing at the Boots and Hearts festival in 2023.

Al was not a man to sit still.  His passion for the Dune buggy could be seen by his big smile as he and Chris would head to Collingwood on a beautiful summer day. He enjoyed watching his children in activities, such as Rachelle’s Dance competitions or heading to the arena to watch Christian play hockey.  Al was also an outdoor enthusiast, living his best life camping, boating, spending time at the beach or heading to the cottage in Sauble with family and friends.

Al was a respected, hardworking man with Eaton for 20 years. He finished his career as the Manager with Ideal Supply in Midland.  He valued his team and customers.  His hard work and dedication were known by everyone around him.

Predeased by Grampy Lou Leroux, Grammy Florence Isabel Ironside, Memere Alida Forget and Pepere Telesphore Forget and his father-in-law Lawrence Currie.  Al’s legacy is carried on by his loving wife Christine, his children Rachelle and Christian, his adored grandchild Maizie, his mother Pat Leroux (Cam), father Ray Forget (Jan), and siblings Cathy, Charlotte (Al), Lisa (Marlon), Victoria (Chris), Shannon and Greg, his mother-in-law Dolores Currie and sister-in-law Jen (Lindsay) Currie.  His nieces and nephews will also feel his absence, along with the many colleagues and friends.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, March 30th at the Penetang Legion from 1-4pm.  The presentation to honour Al’s life will begin at 2pm.  In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations to be made to Hospice Huronia-Tomkins House in Penetang.
