It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Claude Dupuis at the age of 78. Michael died peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, April 17th after a very short battle with cancer. He was a devoted husband, loving father, caring grandfather, and great friend to many.

Michael is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Margaret Dupuis, his sons and their spouses Raymond (Kylee), Vance (Kristen) and his stepdaughter Catherine Woodman (Don). He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Ella, Avery, Marley, Landon, Téa, Jessica and Megan.

He is pre-deceased by his father Noé, his mother Rita and brother Richard (surviving wife Blanche). He is survived by brothers Greg (Debbie), Vic (Audrey) and sister Jeannine Stewart (John) along with his many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He will be remembered fondly by many, for his absolute love of life, music, friendship, and his uncanny ability to make people laugh. For family and those that knew him best, Michael wrote many songs during his life, but one spoke to the importance of family and friends and will in many ways be a legacy left for family generations to come. A small excerpt from Lonesome Pine.

Far Far Away
I Dream Of The Days
Of Happy Times, With Old Friends Of Mine
By That old Lonesome Pine

Per Michael’s wishes, his family will be holding a private interment at a future date. They would like to thank the nurses and doctors at Georgian Bay General Hospital for their tremendous care and compassion during his brief stay. Lastly, they would also like to thank everyone for their well wishes and support during this very difficult time.
