CLEAVER, Frances Elizabeth (nee Denis)

Frances passed away peacefully at the Georgian Bay General Hospital in Midland, Ontario the morning of Wednesday, February 7, 2024.

Frances is predeceased by her parents Raymond and Nora Denis. Frances is deeply missed by her loving husband Howard Edward Cleaver, a sincere gentleman, her knight in shining armour. They knew each other in their teenage years. Frances and Howard married in 2010 and enjoyed bird watching, gardening, music and dancing together for the past fifteen wonderful years. Her interests included cooking, sewing, decorating and sailing. Frances married earlier in life to the late Bill V. Grant, together they made a beautiful family of six children. Frances’s loving children will forever cherish her nurturing love, laughter and respect for yourself and others. She provided a strong loving foundation for her children to ensure they were able to follow their dreams throughout their own lives: “Billy” William Grant (Marjory), James Brian Grant (Wendy), predeceased by Laurie Jane Grant, Susan Elizabeth & Michal Kuchar, Michelle Charlene Grant-Hunt, predeceased by Paula Christine Grant (Dave) and her stepchildren Lisa Ann Cleaver, and predeceased John David Cleaver. She is deeply loved by her living siblings Joseph Denis (Shirley) and cherished her sister Lorraine Denis, especially all her visits.

Frances is lovingly remembered by Julia Denis, Carol Grant, Sharron Grant, Neil Grant, Nellie Edgar, Pierre Maurice and all her in-laws, cousins and friends. She is deeply missed by her nieces and nephews that called her “Mom”. A cherished grandmother to: Shawn, Tristan, Jason, Brendan, Russell (Jenna), Jillian (Alex), Graham (Maria), Jesse, Joshua, Kristan, Jordan and Sabrina (Michael). A great-grandmother to: Maggie, James, Ainsley, Graham, Dawson and Helena who she treasured.

Frances is preceded in death by her brothers Raymond, Mark, Paul and Martin Denis and her grandsons Shawn Elliott Salisbury and Jesse James Grant. In keeping with Frances wishes, a private service will take place and she will be laid to rest at St. Margarets Cemetery in the spring.
