Churly, Norman Gifford of Tiny at the age of 74 years, passed away peacefully at Tomkins House, Penetanguishene with his loving partner Elaine, son Curt and daughter-in-law Becky by his side on August 19, 2022.
Norm was born in Toronto, Ontario. Predeceased by his stepfather Cliff Barton, his father George Churly, and his brothers Ted and Terry Churly.
Beloved partner and endearing soulmate of Elaine Donnelly, son of Jean Barton, dear brother of Roy (Brenda) Barton. Father to Chad (Danielle), Curt (Becky), Cory (Jessica), and stepdaughters Wendy and Heather (John). Fondly remembered and forever cherished by his 8 grandchildren Karley, Jordan, Chayse, Hannah, Jared, Abigail, Ethan, and Lincoln.
Norm had many passions in his life. Not only was he a retired Police Officer with the Toronto Police Service, but he loved to play handball. He travelled extensively throughout Canada and the United States playing in tournaments. He had many memories and great times with his friends at the Valentine’s Health Club where he loved to play handball and Gin. He had a love for Florida where he spent many winters after his retirement with Elaine.
His family would like to extend a special Thank You to all the doctors and nurses that took such good care of him at Sunnybrook Odette Centre, along with the Huronia Hospice Tomkins House who provided loving care and comfort to Norm during his brief stay with them.
