Born in Ottawa on August 28, 1948, Michel Christensen passed away in Midland on October 2, 2023, after a long illness. He is predeceased by his parents, Lucille Boucher and Andrew Christensen. He will be dearly remembered by his devoted and loving partner Debra Kyles, his sister Andrée and brother-in-law Vincent McDonald, many cousins, work colleagues and friends.

Michel worked extensively in the field of arts and culture in Ontario and also acted as art consultant to corporations and individuals, including the Prime Minister of Canada. He was a passionate art collector and his fascination with Surrealism led to the on-going acquisition of an impressive collection with an emphasis on Canadian and international Surrealist art. He also organized and curated several exhibitions, including an exhibition from his own collection of works of art and artist books at the Carleton University Art Gallery, in Ottawa. As a collage artist he collaborated with poets such as Joe Rosenblatt and Andrée Christensen.
Michel’s life was devoted to the appreciation and promotion of art that extends an invitation to dream, eyes wide open. May his work continue to light a bright constellation in the night.
