It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mom Bernadette Cascanette (nee Cadeau) on August 27, 2023.
A gentle and loving soul who will be forever missed. Our parents were very humble and quiet people who put others first. Mom passed away August 27, 2023 in her 94th year, same age and year as her husband Raymond Cascanette. They shared 4 children, Roy, Sally (Willard), Jerry and the late Kevin. Proud grandmother of Troy, Candice, Brittney, Celine, late Jamie, Jody, Justin and Robin, and great-grandmother of Eric, Trea, Evan, Liam, Wren, Ryette, Haven and Sierra.
They were long time residents of Port Severn/Glousester Pool area. In later years mom loved to spend summer days tending her garden and picking blue berries. She even got lost in the woods berry picking and had to spend the night before being rescued in her first helicopter ride. She was an awesome baker and made the best pies and tarts and oh so good chicken and sliders.
The family would like to extend a big thank you to the doctors and nurses at GBGH for their wonderful care.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life for both our parents will be held at the Nicholls Funeral Home on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation starting at 1:00 p.m. If desired, memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Georgian Bay General Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
