John Joseph Cadeau passed away peacefully at Georgian Bay Hospital in the early morning of July 15th, 2023, with his loving wife Janice by his side.
Born in Toronto on February 1st 1948, to Roseanne and Alphonse Cadeau, John grew up in Port Severn, ON, with his five sisters, Carol, Brenda, Marilyn, Rosemary, and Debbie, along with his grandparents and many aunts, uncles, and friends nearby.
Married to his best friend and the love of his life for 52 years, they raised their two children, Johnny and Kelly.
Those close to John knew him as a calm, caring, grounded man who had mastered the art of listening and reflecting. His sense of humor was sharp and timely.
John loved to spend time fishing and cruising around Georgian Bay. When the ‘fish weren’t biting,’ or the weather wasn’t cooperating, he could be found tinkering or sitting in the garage or on the back deck, taking in the nature around him.
Full of knowledge, John loved to keep current on everything happening in the world and spent hours reading multiple news sources each day. Family and friends could always get him going and stir him up by sharing their differing political opinions.
John will be missed greatly by his caring wife, Janice; his children, Johnny and Kelly; daughter- and son-in-law Linda Young and Aaron Hoag, and his grandson Cole McDonald and fiancé, Jamie Doyle. His five sisters, their spouses, and dear friends will also miss John.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date to honor John. We ask that any charitable donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
