Glen Donald Burton peacefully passed away in his 78th year on May 18th, 2022. Loving Dad to Brad (Susan), Darryl (Nicole), Shane (Holly), and Catherine Gordon. Grandpa/Papa to Matthew, Jake, Joshua (Savannah), Devon, Noah, Deacon, Scarlett, and Bryce. Brother of Larry Day (predeceased), David Day (predeceased) Brian Burton (Bonnie), Kevin Burton (Vicky), and Debbie Burton. Still lovingly remembered by Karen Rice and Dave Gordon. He remained a close friend of Jackie Burton until her passing on March 24th of this year.
Born in Toronto on August 25th, 1944 Glen was a talented mechanic who operated several garages in Lindsay Ontario. When Glen was younger, he was an exceptional stock car racing driver and remained a fan until his passing. Glen always enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outdoors watching a campfire, hosting pig roasts, and spending time with his family and many friends. As a major sports fan, you never wanted to change the channel of the hockey game, ball game, or NASCAR race when you thought he was sleeping on the couch. One eye would open and you would promptly be told to return to the channel.
Glen will be sadly missed by his family and friends. As per Glen’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. Friends and family will be invited to a celebration of Glen’s life on a date to be determined.
