09-Mar-1944 - 21-Sep-2022

It is with deep sadness to announce the passing of Nelson Asselin with family by his side at Hillcrest Village on September 21, 2022.

He will be remembered by his loving wife of 54 years, Judy (nee Peden), his children Kimberley (Dale), Cheryl, his fishing partner, Shawn (Brenda). He will be missed by his grandchildren; Justin, Jenna, Carlie, Alisha, Brooke, and great grandchildren; Marleigh and Tommy.

Predeceased by his loving parents Lorette and Henry Pauze and siblings Velma (Norman), and Morris (Yvette).

Dear brother of Vivette (late Don), Theresa, Ilene (Edmund), and Jules (Darlene).

Lovingly remembered by his sister and brother in-laws, nieces, and nephews.

Nelson was a loving and caring brother, husband, father, grandfather, and uncle.

Nelson was always there to help in anyway, especially around the house. As a contractor for most of his life, he was able to build, repair, and help out with any maintenance issues that his house, and his kid’s houses
needed. He was very generous with his time and skills. Mechanically inclined, he could not only fix anything, but he could operate heavy equipment like nobody’s business.

Nelson loved people, young, old, and everyone in between. His joy of life and all things living was contagious.

I know there will be many friends and acquaintances joining the family in remembering him for many years to come.

May you always walk in sunshine, and God’s around you flow.

For the happiness you gave us, not everyone will know.

It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone.

A part of all of us went with you, the day God called you home.

A million times we will have needed you, and a million times we may cry.

If love could only have saved you, you would’ve have never died.

May the Lord be with you and rest in peace, Nelson.

Amen.
