Two young up-and-comers joining next week's A Day in the Life

'The stories of Allie Laliberte and Jedson Tavernier are certainly inspirational,' host Fred Hacker says of next Thursday evening's show

A popular MCC program is welcoming two young Midland natives who are starting to find success on both the national and international stages.

Host Fred Hacker welcomes Allie Laliberte and Jedson Tavernier to the August 18th edition of a Day in the Life at the Midland Cultural Centre.

“Many of the guests on A Day in the Life have already had highly successful careers and our programs often reflect on that,” Hacker said.

“So, it’s exciting to feature two young guests who are just ‘making it big’ in their chosen fields with great futures ahead of them.

Laliberte began her dance career in Midland at the age of 13. She’s now a professional dancer working in Los Angeles and has also danced and taught dance in Europe.

So far, she has worked with the likes of Drake, Rihanna, Shawn Mendes, Doja Cat, JBalvin, Ricky Martin and Sofia Carson. As well, Laliberte, recently established a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting Midland-area dancers.

Tavernier, meanwhile, grew up in Midland and now is a model, social media creator and fitness enthusiast. He does commercials, brand campaigns, social media partnerships, including being part of the 'Toronto Raptors' social media team, and even appeared on a season of the Global TV show Big Brother.

Hacker said that while some of the program’s past guests may have catered to an older demographic, he hopes that having Laliberte and Tavernier on the MCC stage will appeal to a younger audience.

“The fact that they both grew up in Midland makes their stories that much more interesting,” Hacker said. “One of the principal goals of A Day in the Life is to inspire. The stories of Allie and Jedson are certainly inspirational. You won’t be disappointed.”

Tickets for the show, which begins at 7:30 p.m., are $25 plus taxes and fees.
