No one was injured Thursday morning after a bread truck crashed into an historic building at Penetanguishene's main intersection.
At about 9:45am, members of the Southern Georgian Bay OPP and the Penetanguishene Fire Department responded to a collision at the Main Street and Robert Street intersection.
Police say the truck rolled from a convenience store parking lot across the street, struck a vehicle at the intersection and then the building, causing major damage.
Staff from Arbour's Flower Shoppe, located on the building's main floor, and occupants living in two upstairs apartments were evacuated for their own safety, according to police.
A message from Arbour's Flower Shoppe said they are closed due to an emergency.
"Everyone is safe," the message said. "(We) will keep you posted on reopening."
OPP Central Region Technical Traffic Investigation Unit is on the scene to determine the cause of the collision.
No charges have been laid at this time. The intersection remains closed during the investigation, the structural safety of the building has not yet been determined.
