At a special council meeting held at 3:00 P.M. on Monday, Sept. 20, 2021, council officially declared vacant the council seat held by Councillor Tony Mintoff.

Council member Tony Mintoff has resigned his seat on the Township of Tiny Council effective immediately. Councillor Mintoff was elected to serve on council in 2018.

In commenting on the resignation, Mayor George Cornell said, “Tony was a hard working and dedicated advocate for the residents of the township. On behalf of council and all the residents of the township, we appreciate his contributions not only as an elected official, but also in his extensive career as a fire fighter including his seven years as fire chief for our township. All of council and staff wish Tony all the best in the next chapter of his life.”

Based on direction provided by council, the director of legislative services/clerk for the township has been directed to provide a report back to council on the next steps and timelines for council to fill the vacant seat as required under the Ontario Municipal Act.
