Ontario reports 130 new COVID cases Monday

Today's report includes zero deaths and 153 recoveries

Public Health Ontario has reported 130 new COVID-19 cases today and no new deaths in the July 19 daily update.

Today's update includes 153 new recoveries.

The July 19 update provided by the province's public health agency also reported the following data:

  • 1,355 active, lab-confirmed cases, down from 1,378 yesterday.
  • 115 COVID-positive people are currently hospitalized in Ontario.
  • There are 151 patients in intensive care units with COVID-related illness (of those, 44 no longer test positive for COVID-19).
  • 94 people are on ventilators due to COVID-related illness (of those, 25 no longer test positive for COVID-19).
  • The province reported 11,567 tests were processed yesterday, resulting in a one per cent positivity rate. 
  • There are 4,198 tests still awaiting processing, and the provincial labs have processed 16.3 million tests to date.
  • Of the new cases reported today, 16 are from Waterloo, 18 are from Toronto, 17 cases are from Peel, two are from Simcoe-Muskoka, 10 are from Grey-Bruce, and eight are from York Region.
  • Today's cases include 23 individuals aged 19 and under, 53 people between 20 and 39 years old, 28 people between 40 and 59 years old, 23 people between 60 and 79 years old, and three people over 79 years old. 

Public Health Ontario has confirmed 537,698 cases of COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic, and reported 548,347 recoveries and 9,294 deaths.

The cumulative average incidence rate in the province is 3,689 cases per 100,000 people in Ontario.

Ontario's average weekly incidence rate is seven cases per 100,000 people, which is down by 19.5 per cent from last week.

Vaccines

  • There were 91,320 doses of vaccines against COVID-19 administered yesterday.
  • 18,205,549 doses of vaccine have been administered.
  • In total, 7,926,705 people have been fully vaccinated.
