The Midland Public Library is inviting our community to a special event.

On Friday, Sept. 9 at 10:30 a.m., we’ll be hosting the Lieutenant Governor, the Honourable Elizabeth Dowdeswell, to open a special exhibition: Speaking of Democracy.

On loan from the Office of the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, the Speaking of Democracy exhibition explores the roots of, threats to, and promise of democracy through quotes from contemporary and historic individuals. The exhibition will be available at MPL from August 31 through October 28. 

The Lieutenant Governor will officially open the exhibition and explore the importance of democracy to the fabric of local community.
