North Simcoe Sports and Recreation Centre lays out proof of vaccination policy

NORTH SIMCOE SPORTS & RECREATION CENTRE

Under the Provincial Government’s Proof of vaccination policy, beginning on Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2021, visitors to the North Simcoe Sports & Recreation Centre (NSSRC) in Midland will be required to provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19.

Who is required to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination?

When entering the NSSRC, visitors will be greeted by staff and must provide proof of vaccination and valid identification if they’re in the following groups:

All entrants aged 18 and older*

All entrants between the ages of 12 and 17 – except when participating in an organized sport*

*Exemptions

Exemptions apply to both groups above, including medical exemptions. Proof of medical exemptions is required in the form of a written document along with valid identification.

What documents are needed to enter the NSSRC?

Visitors to the NSSRC will need to provide the following:

  1. COVID-19 Vaccination receipts proving the visitor has received two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine.
  2. Valid identification that provides these two key identifiers 
  • Examples of acceptable identification documents:
    • Birth Certificate 
    • Citizenship card 
    • Driver’s Licence 
    • Government issued ID card (Ontario or other) 
    • Health Card 
    • Indian Status Card/Indigenous Membership Card 
    • Passport 

Photo identification is not required.

Please note that a negative COVID-19 test, or recent COVID-19 infection is not considered being fully vaccinated.

Additional Notes for Entering the NSSRC:

  • All other public health measures (e.g., masking, physical distancing) and capacity limits continue to apply.
  • Staff will continue to actively screen all entrants for COVID-19 symptoms.
  • All facility participants must enter through the main entrance.
  • A master participant lists from all user groups and minor sport organizations will be required for contact tracing purposes.
  • Participants will be permitted two (2) spectators each. Midland Flyers capacity is currently capped at 150 spectators.
  • Hockey participants are allowed to enter 30 minutes prior to their rental; Gym users are allowed to enter 10 minutes prior to their rental.
