Last week, MidlandToday asked you, our loyal readers, to join us in supporting the Georgian Bay Food Network this festive season - and your response was nothing short of extraordinary.

During the holidays, an increased number of people are reliant on our local food bank. This increased need means that the Georgian Bay Food Network needs our support more than ever.

MidlandToday brought our whole community together to help provide that support.

We partnered with Maurice's Your Independent Grocer 3718 to offer gift cards for purchase through an online pop-up store.

MidlandToday and generous local businesses pledged to match every purchase made through the online store, meaning that every purchase was matched seven times!

Together, we raised an incredible $3,000 for the Georgian Bay Food Network and delivered 15 grocery gift cards, helping to support those who need it most over the holiday season. Thank you!

Special thanks to Maurice's Your Independent Grocer 3718 for donating the gift cards for this initiative, and to the following businesses who have joined us in matching each donation: Simply Home Furnishings, Brooklea Golf & Country Club, Minds Alive, Huronia Alarms, Triple Tech Heating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration and Adco Tire & Auto Inc.

If you didn't get a chance to participate in this program, we encourage you to send your donation directly to the local food bank. You can donate online, call (705-812-6500) to arrange a donation, or click here for more information on how to give back.
