NEWS RELEASE
HURONIA COMMUNITY FOUNDATION
*************************
Huronia Community Foundation (HCF) is excited to announce a new funding opportunity that will get more funds into our local community.

The Heart of Georgian Bay Community Forward Fund has been established by a resident family who wishes to improve the quality of life for those in our communities.

The Heart of Georgian Bay Community Forward Fund will inject up to $100,000 into our community by the end of the year.

Following the priorities established by The North Simcoe and Area’s Vital Signs Report 2023, produced by HCF, the funder is looking for bold and innovative ideas that address food security, education, literacy and training opportunities, healthy living activities, environmental leadership, promotion of mental health, or creativity in arts and culture.

We are seeking submissions for project-based applications; priority will be given to start-ups and new initiatives. Any organization serving the communities of Midland, Penetanguishene, Tiny Township, Tay Township, and Beausoleil First Nation, may be eligible for funding from the Heart of Georgian Bay Community Forward Fund.

Funds up to $10,000 are available to registered charities or other qualified donees.

If you are a non-registered organization, please seek sponsorship from a registered charity.

Online applications to the Heart of Georgian Bay Community Forward Fund will be received via our website until Oct. 31 at 5 p.m.

Application reviews will take place in November and all approved grants will be disbursed in December.
