The Trews drew a big crowd to the workshop stage at last year's Mariposa Folk Festival.

CLH Foundation is pulling out all the stops with the first live edition of its most important annual fundraiser since 2020.

The organization will feature founding members of the Trews at its upcoming Red Carpet Concert April 13 at the King’s Wharf Theatre in Penetanguishene.

“This time, we’ve changed the format to a more informal, concert-style event, with The Trews Acoustic Trio performing at the King’s Wharf Theatre,” CLH revenue development director Sue-Ellen Boyes told MidlandToday.

“Brilliant band, great theatre for live music,” she said of the intimate 366-seat theatre located along the shores of Penetanguishene Bay. “Tickets are selling really well, but you know what they say – the more, the merrier.”

The new format features a cocktail hour, musical entertainment along with an online auction and donation platform.

But this marks a distinct departure from past events for the agency formerly known as Community Living Huronia.

It was initially presented as “A Red Carpet Evening” gala, then produced as an annual online broadcast for the past three years and now returns with a live concert event. It now will be a bit more informal than a gala, but with the same commitment to presenting premier Canadian entertainment, according to organizers.

And despite the change, Boyes pointed out that this represents the foundation’s largest public fundraiser.

“The funds directly benefit CLH-supported individuals including adults, youth, seniors, children, and their families,” she added.

CLH Foundation’s Red Carpet plays an important role in creating awareness of the work of CLH Developmental Support Services, and also raises significant funds to provide enriched programs and support for CLH-supported adults, seniors, youth and children.

“We are excited to return to an in-person event and so pleased to welcome The Trews Acoustic Trio, who performed at our first online telecast in 2021,” CLH Foundation board president.

“CLH Foundation thanks all who continue to support our Red Carpet Event so generously.”

Tickets for the fundraising concert are $125. For more information, click here.
