Chigamik Community Health Centre joins the Giving Tuesday movement

Centre de santé communautaire Chigamik Community Health Centre (CSC Chigamik CHC) has once again joined the GivingTuesday movement in Canada – a global day of generosity happening on November 28, 2023. Just as Black Friday kicks off the holiday shopping season, GivingTuesday is the opening day of the giving season and continues to gain traction across the country. Since its inception in 2013, GivingTuesday has united millions of Canadians in support of their cherished causes and the communities they call home.

This GivingTuesday, CSC Chigamik CHC invites community members to rally behind its mission of raising funds to supply winter wellness essentials to individuals in North Simcoe. The Winter Wellness Pop-Up, spearheaded by Chigamik staff, will provide blankets, hats, mitts, personal care items, chapstick, essential vitamins, and first aid necessities such as bandaids and polysporin, to those facing challenges in our community. The Winter Wellness Pop-Up will operate twice a month throughout the coldest months, spanning from December to March.

“The impact of GivingTuesday goes well beyond charitable donations, inspiriting giving in all its forms. People are embracing this day as an opportunity to raise money for local charities and non-profits, run food and clothing drives, give blood, encourage kindness, help a neighbour and celebrate generosity,” said Suzanne Marchand, Executive Director, CSC Chigamik CHC. “At a time when the world feels particularly heavy, GivingTuesday serves as an opportunity for people worldwide to stand united in solidarity, using their individual power of generosity to remain connected and heal. By once again joining the GivingTuesday campaign this year, we hope to inspire every member of our community to champion the spirit of giving back.”
