While it’s not being billed as a debate, the Southern Georgian Bay Chamber of Commerce will host the candidates running for Simcoe North tonight.

The virtual event, which is being called an all-candidates meeting ahead of Monday’s federal election, goes from 7 to 8 p.m.

“The one-hour meeting will start off with a five-minute presentation by each of the candidates," chamber general manager Cathy Tait explained.

Those short introductions will be followed by the candidates responding to pre-submitted questions.

“The meeting will allow our residents to meet each of the candidates and learn more about their platforms,” Tait said, noting that those unable to attend virtually Wednesday evening will still have a chance to check it out.

Added Tait: “The meeting will be recorded and posted on our social media the following day.”
