The following letter is in response to an article quoting Ford government cabinet minister Doug Downey saying education workers offered 131 sick days published Nov. 7.

Mr. Downey,

When I taught with OSSTF and AEFO from 1975 to 2004, all of it in Simcoe County, we had a very generous paid sick-day allotment of 20 days, which, after I retired, was reduced.

How lucky these CUPE workers are to now have 131 such days. Seems almost unbelievable. Do they really have? Or, is it possible you are spreading misinformation? Can’t be, can it be, a member of Doug Ford’s government being disingenuous?

What will you claim next? That your government actually cares about the little guy? That your 'focus is on kids in school'? Come on, quit taking us all for gullible fools.

Some of us in this province actually have enough brains to recognize dung when we step in it.
