Marcel Dorion passed away peacefully on Oct 24th, 2023 in his 91st year at GBGH with family by his side. Predeceased by his wife Dorothy Dorion of 68 years. Loving father of Denyse, David (Cheryl), Allan and Kevin (Colleen). Cherished grandfather to Angela (Scott), Diana (Rob), Kelly (Leslie), Jamie, Marcel (Julisa), Aimee (Jay), Mandy (Cody), Jake (Kelsi), Trista and Kaitlyn. Great grandfather to Mackenzie (Eric), Cole, Logan, Abigail, Quinn, Bennett, Maybelle, Tanner, Violet, Elliana and Maverick. Survived by his sister Anita Cascagnette. He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, friends and past coworkers. Predeceased by his parents Ida Dorion and Justine Deschambault, his siblings Gilbert Dorion, Estelle Brown and Irene Morrow, and his great grandson Bailey Mayer.
Marcel was a very well known member of the community through his devotion to his church and volunteer services. He was a well respected and dedicated member of both the Penetanguishene and Midland Police forces. Even though he retired from the police force he continued to serve his community working at local funeral homes and continuing his many volunteer commitments and serving with the Knights of Columbus. He was a great craftsman building houses, his boat and the ever famous tin man. No matter how busy Marcel was, he was always available to lend a hand. Helping others and providing comfort came natural to him. He was a proud family man and a great friend to all who knew him and he will be missed and remembered fondly.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, October 31st at Penetanguishene Funeral Home from 12 - 1:45. A funeral mass will begin at 2 p.m. at St. Ann's Church. Reception to follow. If desired, donations in memory of Marcel may be made to the St. Vincent d
