Wayne passed away suddenly on Sunday, May 05th, 2024.

He was happiest when he made people laugh and smile and always made people feel better when they were having a rough day.  He was kind, thoughtful and caring.  He always showed up and made every sacrifice to protect and care for the ones he loved.  If Wayne loved you, you were probably the recipient of his baked bread, scones, butter tarts and ginger cookies.

He was a carpenter/tradesman by trade and shared his talents generously. He spent years as a volunteer firefighter in Tiny Township, coached his kid’s baseball, women’s hockey, and ball hockey teams.  He loved being on Georgian Bay with family and friends and he loved to fish while Claudette kept him company reading her book.  He found joy in bird feeding/watching, gardening and throwing the ball for his beloved dog Gigi.  He is predeceased by his mother Martha, his father Jake and his sister Patty.

Bonded for life and deeply loved he will be dearly missed by his sister Karen and her partner Rob.  His Mother-In-Law Lorraine loved him as a son and his other in-laws Donna and Chris, Glenn and Barb, Pierre and Lise, Monique and Tom, Janet and John, Lena and Norm, and Jo-Anne and Vince were his family by choice for 46 years. Their children (the cousins) all have wonderful Uncle Wayne stories.  He was the best husband and best friend to his wife of 43 years Claudette (née Belcourt).  Her favourite memory of her “lovey” was watching the sun go down on Beckweth Island while sitting on the front of their boat.  His children Scott, Karlie (and her fiancé Melissa Nesbitt) and Laura were his world, and he was always there for them.

They will always have his stories and words of wisdom to guide them. Becoming a “Papi” to Cali and Sophie was his biggest joy and they always knew Papi loved them with his little kiss on their foreheads every time he said goodbye to them.  A Celebration of Life for Wayne will follow in the near future with date to be confirmed.
