(September 1, 2023, Midland ON) The Town of Midland wants to hear from residents on its 2024 Budget with the launch of the 2024 Budget Survey. The Town is seeking input from the public on what’s important to them for the coming budget year which will help identify key priorities for Council and Staff to consider as part of the process.

“Setting the Town’s annual budget is one of the most crucial decisions a Council makes, and public input will help us to better understand our community’s priorities for their families, businesses, and our town in the 2024 budget,” said Mayor Bill Gordon. “Providing an open and transparent budget process where residents can engage with Council and contribute throughout the budget review is vital to Council as we deliberate on a budget that will support the services and infrastructure required to make Midland a great place to live and visit.”

Results from the 2024 Budget Survey will be included in the 2024 Draft Operating and Capital Budgets presented to Council at the Regular Council Meeting on December 6, 2023. The full draft budget document will be available to the public on the Town’s website on December 7, 2023.

Budget review will continue throughout January 2024 with a Council and public Q & A period, presentations by Town-supported Agencies, Boards and Commissions; a budget Public Meeting where residents can weigh in on the draft budget; and finally, deliberations over a three-day period in late January 2024, leading to adoption of the 2024 Operating and Capital Budgets.
