A Midland man is facing charges after police say he entered a vehicle, stole a wallet and committed fraud.

During the overnight hours of March 9 and 10, a Penetanguishene resident’s wallet was taken from an unlocked vehicle. A Southern Georgian Bay OPP officer discovered credit cards in the wallet were used at several local businesses. The suspect, who was known to police, was later identified.

On Monday afternoon, police responded to a report of an intoxicated man and determined he was the one responsible for the theft earlier in the month, according to a news release.

Justin Jackson, 35, has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and three counts of fraud under $5,000. He was held for a bail hearing on outstanding warrants and is set to appear in court at a later date.
