An Orillia driver was charged with stunt driving this morning after being clocked driving 142 km/h in an 80 km/h zone, police say.

An Orillia driver not only likely has an upset boss, he's going to be without his vehicle and unable to drive for a while.

Police say the 32-year-old man was late for work and caught speeding — clocked at 142 km/h in an 80 km/h zone — Monday morning on Vasey Road. Police did not provide his name.

The driver is facing stunt driving charges and had his car impounded. He will also be unable to drive as his licence has been suspended for 30 days.

He'll answer his charges in court at a later date.

"If you're late for work, then you are late, but don't endanger others," posted Southern Georgian Bay OPP on X, formerly known as Twitter.
