With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Clive Watt Kelly at the age of 88 on November 12th, 2023.

Clive will be greatly missed by his devoted wife, Judith Ann (Judy), son Brian, daughter Joanne (spouse, Jerome), granddaughters, Sydney and Quinn, brothers Robert Norman (wife, Thelma), Dermot, (wife, Barbara), and Brian (partner, Annie), sister-in-law Agnes, many nieces and nephews, and friends, new and old. He is predeceased by his parents, Robert and Edna Kelly and Aunt Naneen.

Clive immigrated from Belfast, Northern Ireland to Canada when he was 21. As a young man, he was an accountant by trade and then moved on to opening two Shell gas stations. His greatest success was his own motorcycle dealership, Kellys Motorcycle in Brampton. He was the top Canadian Kawasaki dealer for many years. While actively involved with motorcycles, he managed a dirt track race team and supported the International Six Days Enduro team that went to various ISDT events in Europe and the U.S.. He rode and raced motorcycles into his early 70’s.

Always competitive and physically active, Clive was an avid squash and tennis player, a golfer, an equestrian, cyclist, downhill skier, and rally car driver. Even though he never learned how to swim, he loved the water and spent many years enjoying his various sail and power boats. Judy and Clive sailed in Georgian Bay and many winters throughout the Bahamas, Bermuda, and the Caribbean. The only experiences he did not want to do was to mountain climb or jump out of an airplane!

Clive had a zest for life and lived it to the fullest.

Many thanks to the incredible team of professionals at Georgian Manor in Penetanguishene and Georgian Bay General Hospital who provided him with amazing care and got to enjoy his Irish tenor singing voice.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Georgian Manor Give a Lift Campaign: https://anc.ca.apm.activecommunities.com/simcoe/donation/detail/13?onlineSiteId=0&from_original_cui=true&online=true or to the Alzheimer’s Society of Simcoe County: https://alzheimer.ca/simcoecounty/en.
